Itärajan Helmi offers inventive accommodation for adventure and nature tourism in North Karelia in Tohmajärvi.

The tent is round in shape and its diameter is 5m, so the whole family can easily fit in the tent. Parents can sleep comfortably in the beds. There is room for children on the floor, but please bring your own mattresses and sleeping bags. The glamping tent is also ideal for grandparents traveling with their grandchildren.

  • The tent has two frame mattress beds, bedside tables, a carpet, a clothes rack and a table and two chairs

  • Domestic high-quality Finlayson bedding and towels

Bed and Breakfast price €55/person/night including a rich breakfast throughout the summer! Dinners can be bought separately when booking.

Children's stay is free if accompanied by two adults.

  • Children 4-10 years - 15€ (breakfast and dinner)

From us, you can easily take self-guided day trips to, for example, Joensuu, Koli national landscapes, Ilomantsi, Punkaharju, Savonlinna, Kerimäki and even Russian Karelia (Sortavala). One interesting destination is the Nightwish museum in Kitee! Riitta, the hostess of Itärajan Helmi, knows the region like the back of her hand and is happy to share additional tips!

If you want to spend the day in Itärajan Helmi, for example on your own going to the beach, sauna, swimming, rowing, grilling, you can order a lunch basket with you (€15/person).
Traffic connections
If you are coming by train, Kitee train station is the closest one and the hostess Riitta will arrange a pick-up from the station, as well as transport to the station after your vacation is over.
Driving instructions
The navigator recognizes our address well and you can't drive past our beautiful sign that advises you to turn left at Jouhkolantie 219. Just drive up the hill with confidence!
